dc.description.abstractEstimation of yield at a given reservoir site is a pro-blem which has not been solved in exact terms so far. The various models used so far can broadly be classified in two categories viz, the deterministic approximation and Stochastic approach. A critical review of the various yield models has been carried out bringing out their salient features and limitations. Further estimation of the long term reliable 'yields of the Rihand Reservoir is analysed through the method of Transition Probability Matrix( TPM). This method is quite easy and gives quite accurate estimation of the risk of emptying the reservoir.......en_US
