An exact method is presented for the analysis of simply supported prismatic folded plates subjected to distributed,, concentrated loads and prestress. Tajo-dimen1ional theory of elasticity is used for in-plane forces, and plate theory is used for nonaal loads. With the transfer matrix technique presented multiple folded plates can also be analysed. The number of unknowns does not exceed four at any stage. For multiple plate structures a point matrix has been derived for the point where more than two plates meet* A computer programme has been written for IBM 1620 computer to analyse such structures with different boundary conditions in the transvorse direction and general loading. - Cylindrical shells of arbitrary shape can also be analysed by this method by dividing the shell into numberen_US
