Title: REDUCTION IN STEAM CONSUMPTION AND IMPROVEMENT IN CONDENSATE RECOVERY AT PAPER MACHINE
Authors: Prrakash, Surya

Issue Date: 2007
Abstract: The dryer part at paper machine is having a highly potential of energy saving. Proper distribution of steam is essential for it. Inefficient command over this section gives rise to poor performance and run-ability of machine. In this dissertation I tried to put importance of thermo compressor valve, especially for M.G. / Yankee dryer. Apart of that I also included some of the problems of dryer section of paper machine. The modeling of moisture removal from porous structure is done. Proper insulation of steam and condensate lines is important issue. Calculation to find optimum thickness of insulation is also discussed. I hope this dissertation may be useful for the further study regarding finding out more possibilities for reduction in steam consumption.
