dc.description.abstract | considerable amount of water is lost between point of diversion and point of utilisation due to which there is always a large gap between created potential and utilised potential. The major causes are large conveyance losses in channels and lack of adequate knowledge in farmers regarding consumptive use requirements of various crops and proper application methods in field. A study has been made to evaluate the availability of water and its utilisation in Salawa command for which a typical case of Janjokhar minor in Salawa command has been selected. availability of water at different stages of supply has been evaluated and the total water utilisation at field has been estimated on the basis of field observations and collected re-cords, Water balance study has shown that the available water is inadequate to meet the requirements in the present condition, for which improvements in efficiency of the system and stability of supply is needed | en_US |
