Through this case study an attempt has been made to put together the duterministi(: and probability methods required for appraisal of water availability and utilization in a basin. Rainfall, runoff, evaporation, evapotranspiration c,mponents have been analysed in detail. Detailed monthly land use and proposed cropping patterns were used in estimation of evapo-transpirative demands. Hydrologic water balance study for 12 calendar months was conducted for an average year and for 70 percent dependable year. Based on this, sub-surface outflow, recharge and depletion of soil moisture and groundwater were estirr teed. considering the present and proposed surface water development, monthly water deficits were worked out. Annual groundwater balance study indicates that monthly water def is its can be made up by large scale groundwater development.........en_US
