Title: STUDY OF ELEVATED WATER TANK UNDER STATIC & DYNAMIC LOADS
Authors: Singh, Pritam
Keywords: CIVIL ENGINEERING;DAMPING COEFFICIENT;WATER TANK;STATIC & DYNAMIC LOADS
Issue Date: 1966
Abstract: This investigation envisages a detailed study of the behaviour of a typical elevated water tank; with the provision of diagonal braces) under static and dynamic loads For this purpose, a model of a water tower was made and subjected to hysteresis cyclings for loads and strains. The relative effects of the change in period and the damping coefficient when the tank is empty or partially full has also been examined in this study
