Cylindrical shells with edge beams have been analysed for line load placed along any generator line. The Donnell-Karman-Jenkin's theory has been used for the analysis. A general computer program has been prepared. Two shells, one short and other long have been analysed for the first term of Fourier Series of the line load placed on any 5 degree line. To study the convergence, the values of various forces and deflections have also been computed for third and fifth Fourier Terms of line load placed at crown or at 10 degrees from it in both shells. It is found that the method of analysis is suitlble for long shells but in the case of short shells for higher terms of Fourier Series than the first, the round off errors become significant.en_US
