dc.description.abstractThe present study is essentially a farm business survey in Salawa Command, District Meerut, Western Uttar Pradesh which highlights input-output rcationsnip in respect of important crops grown in the command. Thus, the data was conducted from 9 villages which were randomly selected 3 villages from each reach i.e. Head, Middle and Tail. The selected villages formed a cluster in.each reach. The collected data have been adopted from earlier studies conducted in 1984 by Shri N.C. Chakraborty and Shri P.R. Padhee, Trainee officers, 27th Batch,WRDTC, determines the efficiency of the resources used by the farmers of different size of holdings in different reach, which could be helpful to arrive at most eco-nomical level of resources for adoption of New Technology. Out of the total farmers of the study, finally 58 farmers have been adopted i.e. 19 from marginal, 15 from small, 11 from medium and 13 from large size of holdings. The collected data relates to family composition, level of education, capital assests, labour use ( family labour and hired labour), bullock labour use, cost of cultivation and output of paddy, wheat, sugarcane and maize crops grown by the farmers and input-output ratio. Resource use efficiency and profitability of important crops. In brief the pro-duction function study will be useful to the farmers in resource use combination and their economical use in the production of various enterprises. From the point of view of policy also, the study is important, due to the fact that it indicates the extent to which modern inputs use can be intensified to get a'specified level of production.en_US
