Circular plates with or without a concentric hole , subjected to linearly varying loads are analysed using small deflection theory of medium thick plates. Solutions for internal forces have been obtained in polar coordinates. The plates with simply supported or free edges have been analysed subjected to the following loadings respectivelyli (a) distributed loading having zero intensity at the pentre, and maximum at the edge (b) knife—edge loading along a concentric circle with zero value on one diameter and varying linearly with perpendicular distance from this diameter, (c) radial couples lying on a concentric circle, with magnitude linearly varying with the perpendicular distance from a diameter with zero value at that diameter. • Critical values of moments and shears are tabulAtipd for direct use for designing such slabs.en_US
