dc.description.abstractIn this dissertation, an effort has been made to identify the potential for small hydro-power development in the State of Rajasthan. The monthwise hydro-potential (a few KW to 15NW) in the State has been assessed based on the survey made for this potential in irrigation canals/distributaries & small dams/tanks existing as well as proposed. The various aspects of planning, available technology, design of civil and electri-cal works, construction & organisation, environmental, socio-economic and safety considerations of small hydro development and their impact on the existing power system have been discussed with special reference to Rajasthan State. A case study of a canal power station has been made to elaborate the various aspects of small hydel development in the State....en_US
