dc.description.abstractThe present study is essentially a Farm Business Survey in selected area of Salawa Distributary, District Meerut, which highlights the "Impact of Irrigation on Farm Income and Employment". The Study was conducted in 9 villages which were randomly selected f rum 3 reaches i. e. Head, Middle and Tail. Three villages were selected from each reach forming cluster in particular reach. The data were collected through an nte-sive Survey Method for which a specially structured schedule was used. The farmers were interviewed for obtaining the re-qui d data. Of the total farmers in the Study area, finally 79 farmers were randomly selected i.e. 30 Marginal, 29 Small and 10 Nedivm and 10 large farmers. Apart from this 25 farmers having no irrigation facilities in the Study area were also randomly selected which formed a "Control Unit" so as to measure the impact. of irrigation on farm income and employmenten_US
