Abstract: Net work analysis is an accepted procedure for plan-ning construction of river valley projects in our country, For major projects, consisting of more than one scheme, multiple stage construction may be economical when benefit-cost criterion is core idered, An attempt is made in this disser-tation to select economical segaence of construction of Puyankutty hydro-electric project in Kerala which consists of four schemes. The 1st Chapter explains the importance of construc-tion planning, general aspects of network techniques and critical path method and brief out line of the scope of this study. The 2nd Chapter contains brief outline of the project, components of the project and selection of alternatives. The 3rd Chapter contains work break-down structures, present status of the project and construction methods proposed for the project. The 4th Chapter discusses the time and cost aspect of the project.
