Abstract: This dissertation reviews the graphical methods of photogrammetric plotting critically . Though these methods are completely outdated and superseded in all developed countries, they still have some future in application for non—topographical plottings in developing country like India, because of its lesser instrumental needs i.e. economy in money. In this dissertation, an attempt has been made to study the graphical methods critically under the heads of principles, Errors, accuracies achievable, advantages, disadvantages, limitations, conclusions and suggestions. So far as the detailed descriptions of working of the methods are concerned, they have not been included, as it can be easily studied in any good text book or literature of Photogrammetry and otherwise it would have been a sheer duplicat ion. In the first two chapters, importance of photogra-mmetry as basic science and genral uses of the graphical methods of plotting have been discussed, Chapter III deals with the working principles of various grgphical plotting methods under different types of photographies . The various methods discussed have been dealt according to their importance and practicability. In Chapter IV the graphical methods and especitly graphical radial line mathod has been discussed critically. And in the last Chapter the adoptability of these methods under Indian conditions of mapping has been dealt.
