CONVEYANCE EFFICIENCY IN SALAWA COMMAND

Abstract

A considerable amount of water is lost in the Canal System from the point of diversion to the irrigation outlet and further in the water course by seepage, evaporation etc. The efficiency of conveyance system affects essentially the total economy of an irrigation project. So the knowledge of seepage losses from canals is required to estimate the convey-ance efficiency of the canal and to take any measures to con-, trol the seepage losses from canals, The seepage losses can be obtained either by estimation or by direct measurements.
