Today's fast paced, tightly scheduled engineering construction projects need large scale movement of earth and speedy movement of men and materials. Therefore, the use of heavy earthmoving machinery which have dependability, mobility, versatility, productivity and operating economy has become imperative to fulfil the urgent requirements. The consequent need for the knowledge of the recent trends . in the heavy earthmoving machinery, in their application, management and operation can, therefore, not be overemphasized. The manage-ment has to introduce simple procedures by which the construc-tion planning for the mechanised projects can be carried out efficiently and effectively in order to achieve maximum economical production from the heavy earthmoving machinery...en_US
