Due to use of inappropriate irrigation methods of water field application, the efficiencies of water application are very low and crop yield suffers for want. of inadequate water at some spots and excess water on other spots, in a field. Uniformity of water distribution in the field is not obtained. This is partially due to the ignorance .©f cultivators about the correct techniquea of water application and partly due to out dated mode of distribution of cater. The dissertation describes the techniques of surface flooding irrigation methods and associated matters which are of practical utility to the cultivator as well as to irrigation engineers in charge of operation, maintenance, planning or .construction of irrigation schemes.....en_US
