Issue Date: 1979
Abstract: The dissertation presents results of Water- -Balance study of Gomti Kalyani Doab in Barabanki district of Uttar Prade ,h. The study has been conducted for three years starting from October 1975. Various components of hydrologic, groundwater and water use equations have been evaluated for this period. It has been found that average recharge due to rainfall works out about 30'% of annual. precipitation. Groundwater potential of the area is about 65,000 ham. The average canal supplies during the period of study is 4365O ham. The surface supplies may be taken as 55,OJO ham after the completion of Sarda Sahayak Feeder channel, Thus the total water resources work out to 1,20,000 ham. Average evapotranspiration from the irrigated areas work out to 45 cm and. 90 cm during nonmonsoon and monsoon seasons respectively. The error in balancing the hydrologic equation ranges between 10 and 15%.
