dc.description.abstractA review of the recent prevailing practices for the load forecasting techniques along with their uses and necessity in a developing country like India. Different approaches along with their suitability under the recent conditions are discussed. A brief description of methods being adopted in India and the other countries has been given. Best method which can be adopted in India depend-ing upon the environmental condition of the country and availability of the statistics and trained forecasters with their limitations have been described. In the end tba recommendations which should be followed and the best method to suit Indian conditions have been pointed out.en_US
