dc.description.abstract | A review of the recent prevailing practices for the load forecasting techniques along with their uses and necessity in a developing country like India. Different approaches along with their suitability under the recent conditions are discussed. A brief description of methods being adopted in India and the other countries has been given. Best method which can be adopted in India depend-ing upon the environmental condition of the country and availability of the statistics and trained forecasters with their limitations have been described.
