Title: A REVIEW OF 'PRACTICES FOR PLANNING CONSTRUCTION* JOB-FACILITIES
Authors: Djoemadi, F. X.
Keywords: WATER RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT;JOB-FACILITIES;POWER SUPPLY;WATER SUPPLY
Issue Date: 1977
Abstract: It is universally true that construction equipment and construction job::facilities play an important role in the construction of major water resources development pro-. jocts. Though the success in the design and management of the construction equipment is unavoidable, it does not nece-: ss arily mean the success of the entire construction work. However, without a successful arrangement of jobf acilties, execution of a project could be extremely difficult, expen-sive and delaysome. Avoilability of proper literature for design of job-facilities is however, necessary. Job~f ac ilt.ties for a construction project, namely Compressed-.air, Water supply and Pouor.supply-.systems, and their elements are discussed in the First Chapter, The next three Chapters cover the entire conventional procedures for the design of the above systems, respectively. The physical application of the design principles to a specific project are described in the Fifth Chapter, Economic considerations are discussed in the Sixth Chapter, Examples of design are given in the text at appropriate locations.' The last chapter describes some of the important systems=techniques and their applications in planning of construction JobFacilities. Every technique is illustrated through an example. It is hoped that in the near future most of these techniques willbecome common procedures in job:: facilities planning in construction.
