dc.description.abstractThis -dissertation report presents a comprehensive study and analysis on seismic reflection survey. The data presented in this work was recorded at East Godawari District (K.G. Basin), Andhra Pradesh. The seismic-reflection method is • a powerful geophysical exploration technique. It has been in widespread use in petroleum industry for more. than 60 years. The seismic uphole survey was performed in association with Integrated Geophysical and Geological Services (IGGS) New Delhi, to detect the soil layer interface and their corresponding velocities. Total 25 upholes covering 100 sq. km. area were surveyed, using BISON-1 seismograph with 100 Hz. geophones with spacing 1.0 meter. The detonating capes were used as source in uphole. The depth of uphole during survey varied from 57 m to 70 m. After calculating the travel time at the geophones it was concluded that 3 to 5 layers were present within the given depth. The corresponding velocities of the layers vary from 270 m/s to 2200 m/s depends upon the lithology of the area.en_US
