The use of highly product .ve equipment and method has resulted in tunnels being driven more economically and speedily. Due to varying geology and topography, the construction method and equipment adopted on each tunnel are unique. The task of proper planning of tunnels becomes all the more difficult for want. of published data and literature at one place in such form as to provide material for easy ref-erence.
