dc.description.abstractWelding of modified 9Cr -1 Mo steel pipe has been carried out by Manual Metal Arc Welding process at different welding parameters and post weld heat treatment temperatures. The microstructure of the weld and HAZ adjacent to the fusion line are studied under optical microscope and correlated with the welding parameters and post weld heat treatment temperatures under constant preheating temperature. Microhardness of the weld, HAZ and base material are evaluated and correlated with the welding parameters and post weld heat treatment temperatures. Finally, the tensile properties of the weldment are studied and correlated to the welding parameters and post weld heat treatment temperatures to find out the weldability of modified 9Cr- 1 Mo steel.en_US
