dc.description.abstract | Selection of machining parameters i.e speed, feed and depth of cut is an important step in machining of a workpiece. This report includes a thorough discussion of factors which affect the accuracy of the finished work such as rigidity of machine-work-tool system, geometrical and set-up errors of machine tool, tool wear, ,clamping and locating error of workpiece and chatter vibration. A mathematical model is formulated w.i't1i considering above mentioned factors and other constraints such as surface finish, power available, maximum and minimum speed, feed and depth of cut limits. Minimum cost is taken as objective function. For determination of optimal machining parameters, dynamic programming technique- is. used. Machining idle time is also regarded as a variable. For 9 rigidity analysis of workpiece. Finite element method combined with moment area method is used. An algorithm is developed for rigidity analysis of machine-work-tool system and is interfaced with algorithm determining the optimal machining parameters. | en_US |
