This work was undertaken to compare various properties of Al-11% Si castings poured in Green sand, Carbon-Di-Oxide and V-process moulds. To minimize the melting and other environmental variables, . all moulds obtained were poured at the same temperature. The following properties have been studied and compared (1) Dimensional Accuracy (11) Surface roughness (iii) Volume porosity (iv) Solidification time (v) Tensile strength (vi) % Elongation (vii) Impact strength (vii) Hardness Significant difference in mean values of the above properties obtained from castings produced from the three processes have been reported.en_US
