Abstract: A conveyor system with one server has been considered. Iak is subjected to random failure and subsequently put under repair. Conveyor may also enter into idle state after repair. The server becomes idle when there is no unit in the queue, waiting for service. The server is allowed to idle when the conveyor is in failed state or in idle state. He may be allowed to idle even when the conveyor is in working state. In this dissertation, the reliability of a single server conveyor system has been analysed. The transient as well as steady state behaviour of the conveyor system have been studied. A queuing model, when no queue forms has been developed. The queue length, when a queue forms, before the server has also been determined. 47 The various joint probability transforms have been obtained by the use of Laplace transforms and generating function technique. The mean number of units processed by the server in a given time, has been determined. Further the effect of variation of different parameters has been studied graphically. These models i.e. probability transforms can be used to determine the joint availability or non--availability of the conveyor and server.
