Issue Date: 1972
Abstract: Morwe Project in Bihar illustrates the first application of Lateral Spillway in this country. Such Spillways are extremely useful when the gorge is very narrow and the slopes are very steep. The literature on this type of Spillway has been pulled for the first time and discussed critically. The various assumptions and limitations of different methods viz. Hinds, Peter, Farny, etc. -ov- ~-~` 'lie experimental studies done on such Spillways .and on Morwe Spillway in Bihar (I.R.I. Bihar,Khagaul) have been discussed with a view to bring out the relative sectional profiles and economics. The design calculations have been incorporated for the use of design of Lateral Spillways in this Country.
