Issue Date: 1971
Abstract: A widely adopted method of determining the incremental transmission losses of a power System, used the "B - Constants methods and Tensorial analysis. Though these methods give acc-urate values of incremental transmission losses they involve lengthy calculations, and also suffer from other disadvantages that the system parameters are deeply buried under the mathe-matical transformations, lack of physical significance of B -constants and instability of these methods for system changes. later number of methods are develpped by various authors which overcome these dis-advantages. These mathods are critically reviewed and comaparison is made by working out by these methods on a particular power system. These methods which are quite easy to apply, require less data and are stable for system changes are shown to be quite adoptable to use under local circumstances.
