dc.description.abstract | These days the technology employed for power generation, transmission and utilization in a power system is changing continuously from day to day. Similarly the load demand in the distribution system also varies continuously from time. to time. Many new technologies have been employed to meet all the requirements of the distribution system quantities like voltage profile, distribution power loss and the tariff etc. One of the emerging new technologies is generation of power within the distribution .system. This is termed as "Distributed Generation" (DG). The tariff in the normal distribution system is so high , the new technology is introduced should decrease the tariff but should meet the load demand. 'So, the purpose is solved by the introduction of Distributed Generation. The tariff in this Distributed Generation (DG) is so calculated considering the factors like total power losses. As a part of my Dissertation work, the load flow program using the Newton Raphson method is developed in MATLAB and the program is made to run and the total power losses, total power generation are calculated. As my dissertation is of distributed generation (DG) of different capacities namely 5MW, 10MW, 20MW and 25MW at each bus separately in the IEEE-14 Bus system and the load flow program is run and the total power loss 'and total generation as said earlier are calculated and using this total power losses the tariff is calculated and this is compared with the tariff without the distributed generation (DG) in the IEEE-14 Bus system. | en_US |
