SOFTWARE-PACKAGE ON MRP-II A CASE STUDY

Abstract

Material Management plays a vital role in any manufacturing industry. The inventory level of multi-product, multistage of an industry can be maintained only with the help of sound techniques like material requirement planning and material resources planning. An effort is made in this dissertation to perform all the functions of MRP-system for any integrated industries, where large numbers of items are processed and then to be calculated. The availability of computers encouraged to develop a software package, where datas are entered from M/S Compton Greaves Ltd., Bombay, an induction . motor manufacturing concern. The package suggest, how to maintain the low inventory level and schedule.>,:.. of manmachine system within the constrained time which otherwise it is impossible task to calculate manually. Many logics were developed with the help of literatures specially to deal the problems of production planning and control system, where time phased requirement planning and resources planning were carried out without much difficulty, thereby, reducing cost of production, which otherwise will be held up as a inventory cost.
