dc.description.abstractIran is the backbone of modern clvilisatlon and those countries possessing good deposits of -:iron► ores are subject of sxcx$ envy to othors. We are fortunate in this respect that our country is self sufficient in its iron resources, in the ,country, rich deposits are found in Bihar Madhya Pradesh, Orissa, Maharashtra , Mysore and Tamilnadu, Rajasthan has also some small iron ore deposits which can help greatly to its economy if they are properly exploited. An understanding of the deposits is thus necessary. An attempt has been made to unravel the nature of the iron ore dopos is with the help of field and laboratory studies. It is hoped that the present work will provide a better understanding of the iron ore deposits of Samod area*.en_US
