Issue Date: 2012
Abstract: The Digboi oilfield is the oldest producing oilfield in India. Early on the structure of the oilfield had been recognized as an anticline which was later interpreted as a fault propagation fold. Various geological cross sections are available of the Digboi oilfield; however there is a lack of balanced cross sections for the same. With better technology of reflected seismics, good quality seismic sections are available now which provide us with a clearer picture of the subsurface geological structures. For this dissertation, seismic sections from the area have been interpreted and the interpreted structures have been checked for viability by restoring them to a previous undeformed state. Hence the interpreted sections can be termed as balanced sections.
