Issue Date: 1965
Abstract: Over the last thirty years a great amount of research effort has been devoted to obtain better and more reliable information on certain parameters of injection equipment performance. Some of these are : (i) Quantity delivered by a certain pump, line, and nozzle combination. (ii) Relation between a fixed point in the cycle, such as pump inlet port closing, and the actual start of injection, duration of injection, and presence or absence of secondary injections. (iii) Fluid pressure during injection. (iv) Nozzle needle lift. (v) Rate of injection. The present work gives results obtained in an investigation carried out to study the rate of fuel injection, fuel quantity delivered by the pump, the start of injection, duration of injection, and secondary injections at various pump speeds, loads and injection 12 pressures.
