Issue Date: | 1965 |
Abstract: | A knowledge cf force relationships during metal cutting is essential for an understanding of the pro-perties of t metal that are responsible for its performance in machining operations, Four relationships have been derived from the experimental data correlating depth of cut, feed and cutting speed both under dry axld wet cutting conditions. These obtained relationships are valid for 0.25% Carbon steel using plain carbide throw away inserts with negative rake angle. A wire resistance, strain gauge dynamometer was used to measure the forces on the cutting tool. |
