In this thesis Reynolds equation has been solved by Finite Element Technique using Galerkin's method. A computer software has been developed for calculating pressure distributio;,load bearing capacity, Sommerfeld number, friction coefficient parameter, oil flow and temp-eratur e rise pare~neter, for full journal bearings. The analysis is general and can be applied to other types of hydrodynamic bearings.en_US
