The study in hand constitutes of tracing out the historical resume in development of the "Theories of Buckling with special reference to Plastic Buckling". Here in this work an attempt has been made to correlate the observed, buckling load and stresses with those calculated by the various plastic buckling theories by plotting the curves of buckling stress V.s slenderness ratio for different materials, with various sections and various end conditions. The effect of end-restraints on the working stress cI a column has also been studied and inference drawn that the effects of end-restraints tend to be negligible and what-soever is left should be dealt with by selecting the fixity coefficient with conservatism.en_US
