The chassis of an automobile is comparatively more important than other structural members. Depending upon the type of uses in the field, these structures are prone to get damaged. Hence, it becomes necessary for the designer to analyse the frame structure at the design stage itself for predicting its adequacy in safety and reliability. A 3-wheeler chassis frame, which is a 3-dimensional (space) frame structure, has been analysed using finite element method for its eigen values and eigenvectors. The natural frequencies and mode shapes have been determined using iteration procedure. Consistent and lumped mass models have been used in the formulation. A computer program has been developed, which can be used to analyse even complex structures having skew members and the applicability of this program extends to computing static and dynamic parameters as well.en_US
