dc.description.abstractThe problem of assigning facilities to locations remains to be one of the more interesting problems to many researchers. Computerized layout planning has reduced the search phase of the layout design process and has given the capacity to generate a number of alternative layouts quickly. The work reported in this dissertation has been done by a construction algorithm with activity relationship as its basis. By changing the location of the first section to enter the layout a number of layouts have been generated. Graphics capability of this program provides a new dimension to the layout planner which enables him to observe, judge and evaluate each layout simultaneously.en_US
