Issue Date: 2009
Abstract: The Power consumption by sensors, Reliability of data transfer and security of data are the three major issues in Wireless Sensor Networks. As compare to wired network, Wireless Sensor Networks have different constraints. Due to those reasons there is a need of rethink on those issues. For Reliability issue, Reliability scheme is such in a way so that power consumption of the sensor node is less. Reliability scheme should be deployed on the Transport Layer so that it can be sure about the reliability of data transfer. To provide reliability, Reliable Multi Segment Transport Protocol can be used, it is a selective negative acknowledge based protocol with use of Hop-by-Hop loss recovery scheme. Also provide guaranteed delivery which is useful for critical application of Wireless Sensor Networks. Data security is another major issue in Wireless Sensor Networks because they are deployed for critical applications. Tiny Encryption Algorithm is a Symmetric key based Algorithm whose integrity with Wireless Sensor Networks is good. So it can useful for security consideration. Both Reliability and Security are covered in this work and performance has been checked for both of the scenarios.
