The present investigation is a case study of a leading electronics manufacturing enterprize, restricting the study to only printed circuit board (PC3) documentation and manufacturing system. Besides case study, recommendations have been made to raise the present level of production of 4 sq.m. of PB per day to 50 sq. m. of 3' pax day. The major criteria for this study are the quality, reliability and productivity of the prrduction. The cost effectiveness is not importent. Existing plant is manually operated. Case study of the existing plant includes detailed study of txisting methods, inventory analysis, plant layout, material handling and storage. The areas where there are. possibilities of improvement in production have been identified. Recommendations to improve production include computer aided design and drafting (CADD), computer aided manufacturing (CAM) and trouble shouting check list etc. CADD and CAM will reduce the cycle time. from seven months to one month, besides increasing the production rate by 12.5 times.en_US
