dc.description.abstract | It has been established from the literature survey that the frequency of accidents and occ zrence of occupational diseases is quite high in cast iron foundries. k preliminary survey was conducted which indicated that dust, fumes, gases, noise, severe thermal conditions and poor illumination are the hazards of main. concern. These were measured for their hazardous values in some foundries of this region of the country. Comparison with the !Threshold Limit values indicated that dust, fumes and gases concentration were much higher in these foundries.- Illumination level prevailing was found to be much lower than recommended values. The expo sure to severe noise and thermal conditions was also found alarming in a few cases. The consequences of hazards have been studied and remedial measures are suggested. | en_US |
