Hydrostatic Bearings compensated with suitably designed variable restrictors have better performance characteristics than those compensated with capillary,, orifice and constant flow valve. In this 'thesis, externally pressurized bearings compensated with membrane type double restrictors (M.D.R.) have been analyzed by finite element method. Computations have been made for bearing load capacity, flow and pressure distribution for various design parameters related to restrictor matchingt Four pocket and six pocket bearings have been studied for both, type A as well as type B loadings.en_US
