Title: INVESTIGATIONS ON WHEEL CLOGGING BEHAVIOUR AND RELATED PARAMETERS IN SURFACE GRINDING
Authors: Agarwal, Madan Mohan
Keywords: MECHANICAL & INDUSTRIAL ENGINEERING;CLOGGING;SURFACE GRINDING;WHEEL CLOGGING
Issue Date: 1975
Abstract: Clogging of grinding wheels is one of the important factors which limits the rate of metal removal, adversely affects the surface finish and sets in the machine some undesired vibrations. Inspite of its established -importance, the experimental measurement of clogging has not been much explored. In the present work the clogging of grinding wheel was determined by measuring the amount of Zinc and Brass particles clogged within the pores of grinding wheel using spectrophotometric method. Study was made of some of the basic parameters influencing clogging, grinding forces, surface finish and metal removal rate during surface grinding of Zinc and Brass.
