For rigorous design analysis of a tilting pad journal bearing, the deformation of the pad is an important parameter because clastic deformation of the pad may be of the same order of magnitude as the film thickness in the clearence space of the bearing. The objective of this dissertation is to develop a computer software to estimate the deformation of the pad so that it can be used in the iteration involving elasto-hydrodynamic consideration. One case of a 180° pad has been solved as an example.en_US
