dc.description.abstract | Solution of Laplace Equation representing flow/ pressure field for hydrostatic pad with arbitrary boundaries is carried out using finite element technique. A computer program using this technique is developed for the analysis of multi-recess hydro static thrust pad of any pocket shape ass tzm ing pocket pressure is known a priori. Solution of few problems are presented to illus-trate the usefulness of this method. The extension of this technique wherein pocket pressure is unknown but is related to the supply manifold pressure is also illustrated. | en_US |
