dc.description.abstract"Facing Test For Machinability Testingb~, proposed by G. Lorenz, is an alternative method for the conventional turning test. But facing test for machir•ability testing had been a subject of discussion among the research workers. Heiitbotham and Pend ey have raised some doubts about the reliability of this method for machinability det exmination. They say that two method's, facing arrt conventional turning can be compared only when the r 'k of 'year instantenious values of .pressure, temperature and/ 9' p- fa 'na-J are the some in both cases. In this work experiments have been performed, mainly to test the validity of facing test for machinability testing from the point of view of instantenious values of pressure an# temperature in two types of tests. As a result of experimentation we have found that Facing Test is not a reliable method for machinability testing.en_US
