Abstract: In calculation of Air conditioning loads, the common practice is to make use of the "Equivalent Temperature Differential'" (E.T.D.) as suggested by ...S.H.R. A..E. This method was formulated by STEWART and it is the simplifica-tion of MACKEY and WRIGHT solution on periodic heat flow through homogeneous and composite sections. STEWART equated the periodic heat flow analysis in a similar mAnner as a steady state process. There is however no rigorous mathe-matical justification presented, in arriving at E.,T..D. as this is purely an empirical solution.....
