Issue Date: | 1969 |
Abstract: | The present work deals With the experimental investigation of the effects of normal load, rolling speed and ball size on the rolling friction force. The experimental rig designed for the purpose has been discussed and the results obtained have been presented in the form of curves. This work covers a speed range from 165 nm/mt to 12 mm/mt, normal load from 45 kg to 10 kg and ball sizes from 34/64" to 2+/64". Theoretical and practical works carried out in this direction have been n discussed briefly and it has been found that the results obtained experimentally are in close agreement with them. |
