This dissertation presents an experimental investigation of natural convective heat transfer in liquids between two parallel plates. An apparatus was designed and constructed to. study this for various angular positions andAdifferent heights between the rectangular parallel plates. The experimental investigation covered a range of t aylelgh numbers between 2+622x104 and 5.127x108 and Prandtl numbers between 3.62 and 3.235x108. Based on the obtained experimental data for water and glycerine an empirical equation has been proposed to relate Nu, Ra, Pr and 6 (the angular positions of the plates). The results from this equation have been compare d with those of other investigators. Conclusions have been drawn and suggestions for future work have been given.en_US
