This dissertation is concerned with analysis of MIMO-OFDM communication systems using Space-Frequency Block Coding under frequency selective channels. Based on Alamouti scheme, Performance of simple maximum likelihood, joint maximum likelihood, zero forcing and decision feedback detection scheme for SFBC-OFDM are compared under time varying multipath Rayleigh fading channels, and results shows that the joint maximum likelihood detection scheme gives the best result among all. In this dissertation analysis of SISO-OFDM and SFBC-MIMO-OFDM in the presence of phase noise is also studied. OFDM system is highly sensitive towards the phase noise and it gets worst when higher modulation scheme or increased phase noise variance is applied.en_US
