dc.description.abstractWith the rapid development of new wireless technology and applications, the demand for high data rate and bandwidth has been growing. However, the fixed spectrum assignment policy faces a challenge to provide such services satisfactorily, even though a great portion of the licensed spectrum is severely underutilized. Cognitive radio is a novel wireless communication approach that may alleviate the spectrum shortage crisis. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is an attractive modulation candidate for cognitive radio systems which provides flexibility in allocating the radio resources in dynamic environment. The problem of resource (sub carrier and power) allocation in cognitive radio is a multi-objective optimization problem which can be well addressed by game theoretic framework. In this dissertation work, different games such as auction game, cooperative game and Colonel Blotto game are applied for resource allocation in OFDM based- cognitive radio network. Our simulation results show that all the schemes provide fair solution. Moreover, Nash bargaining solution and Colonel Blotto game are also efficient in terms of achieved throughput.en_US
